Student Drones

lyrics

Make sure there are no jobs
Stop benefits for those leaving school
Force them to take two more years
Of indoctrinational bull
Two more years of dependence
Two more years to sap their fire
Two more years to convince them
To wait longer and aim higher

To limit unemployment
Was the original scheme
It soon became a far more
Ambitious dream
They cut the grants savagely
Knowing they would get
A less rebellious youth
Mostly crippled with debt

In order to survive
They have to take out student loans
Leaving them firmly weighted
Round the neck with a millstone
No choice but to conform
Work to pay the money back
To keep at bay
The ever looming spectre of the bank
Industry enjoys
The extra benefits they reap
From an educated workforce
They can employ on the cheap
In a world where everybody’s
Got a degree
They become worth little more
Than a CSE
