Falling on Deaf Ears Again

from To Find a Little Bluebird by Riot/Clone

lyrics

Nearly twenty years of shouting the odds
But nothing’s changed, if anything it’s got worse
And people think the real power’s been diffused
Are we the only ones to see
That we are anything but free?
The rulers still have their ivory towers
And we’re all still abused
I don’t claim all the answers
I don’t claim second sight
But if you don’t listen, think and question
You’ll never get it right

I hear my voice but is it falling
Falling on deaf ears again?
However loud I shout are my words falling
Falling on deaf ears again?

Do you think a new government’s what you need
To change a system built on hate and greed?
If so you’ll be disappointed
When that false dawn comes about
Their only function’s to keep hold
To reinforce the status quo
Make sure there’s enough to fill the trough
Where they all put their snouts
But still you keep believing
Still you go out and vote
If you don’t listen, think and question
Then you haven’t any hope

I hear my voice but is it falling
Falling on deaf ears again?
However loud I shout are my words falling
Falling on deaf ears again?
