Wake Up
02:30
|
|||
Wake up to your inner strength
It’s been asleep too long
Don’t just sit around and moan
When you see something’s wrong
Nothing ever changes
If no one stands up to fight
The liberties people took
Are what we now think of as rights
The rulers won’t give nothing
Unless we take it for ourselves
The alternative’s to live
In their authoritarian hell
The rest of your life getting up
And doing work that you hate
Don’t you think you owe yourself
A more inspiring fate?
The revolution is now
The revolution is here
It’s in your heart, it’s in your mind
All that holds it back is fear
It’s in the actions of humankind
The revolution’s true
Believe in your own strength
The revolution is you
Wake up to reality
Nothing’s gonna improve
If everybody sits around
We’re all destined to lose
Forget the empty promises
The politicos’ lines
Whether radical or mainstream
They’re all neutered by design
The parliamentary process
Was designed to keep at bay
Attempts by real people
To have a proper say
Revolutionary ideas
Once in power will always wane
It’s been proved throughout history
And will be proved again
The revolution is now
The revolution is here
It’s in your heart, it’s in your mind
All that holds it back is fear
It’s in the actions of humankind
The revolution’s true
Believe in your own strength
The revolution is you
Wake up to the cold hard facts
Real change comes from below
It’s the only way
You’ll ever change the status quo
Just don’t get caught
And try to keep your name off their computers
With enough concerted effort
We’ll create a better future
The revolution is now
The revolution is here
It’s in your heart, it’s in your mind
All that holds it back is fear
It’s in the actions of humankind
The revolution’s true
Believe in your own strength
The revolution is you

Think for Yourself
01:49
|
|||
So many opinions from far and wide
The whole world wants to be your guide
They’ll be your friend if you’ll be on their side
They’ll promise you such splendour
Take a step back and use your brain
Are their words honest and plain
What do they stand to lose or gain
What’s their hidden agenda?
Don’t let him or her or me
Or anybody ever
Tell you what to think
Or what to do
Think for yourself
Think for yourself
Think for yourself
Think for yourself
Think for yourself
Think for yourself
Think for yourself
No one else has got the same
Experiences you do
Draw on them to make conclusions
Relevant to you
Forget the conditioning learnt at school
It’s right to question each and all
To follow blindly is to fall
Make sure their view’s dissected
There’ll be surprise from some you spurn
And those in uniform will never learn
Respect is something that you earn
Not a thing to be expected
Don’t let him or her or me
Or anybody ever
Tell you what to think
Or what to do
Think for yourself
Think for yourself
Think for yourself
Think for yourself
Think for yourself
Think for yourself
Think for yourself
No one else has got the same
Experiences you do
Draw on them to make conclusions
Relevant to you
Make sure you take advantage now
Of the info explosion going round
If you look for the truth it can be found
That’s why the system’s frightened
For ignorance there’s no excuse
The information’s so profuse
Don’t let your brain die of misuse
Broaden your horizons
Don’t let him or her or me
Or anybody ever
Tell you what to think
Or what to do
Think for yourself
Think for yourself
Think for yourself
Think for yourself
Think for yourself
Think for yourself
Think for yourself

Buy Me
02:27
|
|||
Buy me buy me buy me
I don't care if I get grimy
Go on Guvnor, oh cor blimey
Won't you buy me buy me buy me?
Told since young that to stand erect
I would need a job for my self-respect
They know best so it must be true
That’s why I came for the interview
It’s strange hours but I’m fairly strong
Twelve hours a day doesn’t seem too long
One twenty a week I can live all right
DSS said so, they must be right
Buy me buy me buy me
I don't care if I get grimy
Go on Guvnor, oh cor blimey
Won't you buy me buy me buy me?
Only last week I hurt my back
But if I take time off I’ll get the sack
For the moment I’ll struggle through
Well, what else is a man to do?
At least I’m not signing on like some
Sitting all day on their lazy bums
I work for a living and work makes me free
I’ve got a future, can’t you see?
Buy me buy me buy me
I don't care if I get grimy
Go on Guvnor, oh cor blimey
Won't you buy me buy me buy me?

Air Smiles
02:07
|
|||
The politicians sat around the table with their friends
Smarmy captains of industry and some accounting pens
They all had a problem with no solution in sight
It looked as though the meeting would last way into the night
The trouble was the Government had sold all that they’d took
From the people over many years and now were going broke
They’d been locked in for many hours and couldn’t find a way
When someone stood, and in an excited voice began to say
The answer as I see it is to sell something they need
And make it seem like their idea to counter claims of greed
Let’s pump pollution into the air ‘til people cough and wheeze
Then once the smog gets bad enough they’ll buy clean air to breathe
He stopped and cast a glance o’er the people sitting there
Following a pregnant pause they all began to cheer
The idea was so simple, it was the greatest scam
Since the mass selling of arms to both Iraq and Iran
They set to work immediately, car prices took a drop
Carbon monoxide levels soared way over the top
When the public clamoured for a fix to the pollution
They started selling shares in the new Oxygen Commission
They all came back to celebrate months later in the bar
They’d all had doubts the public would let them go so far
But shares had sold tremendously and no one seemed to mind
Walking round like space explorers on this brown and poisoned land
The moral of this story, just in case I’m being vague
Is that relying on the Government’s like welcoming the plague
Along with the industrialists there’s one thing on their mind
How much they can screw you for, and that’s the bottom line

Nowhere to Run
01:25
|
|||
They build out of town centres
Close the shops in your High Street
If you don’t have a car
You’ll struggle to afford to eat
Anything that looks as though
It may threaten their hold
Is bought up with their cheque books
And brought under control
Nowhere to run
Nowhere to hide
The corporations are marching
Across the countryside
Their trading with the third world
Massively increases debt
As they force down the buying price
Of what they want to get
They feel no guilt
As long as their shareholders have their cake
Leaving widespread tracts of poverty
And famine in their wake
Nowhere to run
Nowhere to hide
The corporations are marching
Across the countryside
Profit’s all important
To their corporate mindset
No thought for the individuals
Their actions will affect
If they can’t control something
They’ll destroy it if they can
Global domination
Is their ultimate plan
Nowhere to run
Nowhere to hide
The corporations are marching
Across the countryside

Student Drones
01:13
|
|||
Make sure there are no jobs
Stop benefits for those leaving school
Force them to take two more years
Of indoctrinational bull
Two more years of dependence
Two more years to sap their fire
Two more years to convince them
To wait longer and aim higher
To limit unemployment
Was the original scheme
It soon became a far more
Ambitious dream
They cut the grants savagely
Knowing they would get
A less rebellious youth
Mostly crippled with debt
In order to survive
They have to take out student loans
Leaving them firmly weighted
Round the neck with a millstone
No choice but to conform
Work to pay the money back
To keep at bay
The ever looming spectre of the bank
Industry enjoys
The extra benefits they reap
From an educated workforce
They can employ on the cheap
In a world where everybody’s
Got a degree
They become worth little more
Than a CSE

Capitalism
01:15
|
|||
Pollution in the air
That causes danger every day
White buildings rarely are
They’re more a murky sort of grey
Almost a thousand die each month
From heart and lung disease
As the poison gets transported
Around the landscape by the breeze
Nothing ever changes
It’s easy to see why
Profit before people
Is the moneymakers’ cry
Just look at the evidence
You’ll reach the same deduction
Capitalism means destruction!
Food not fit to eat
Through chemicals in pesticides
Which find their way into rivers
And the drinking water supply
Toxic waste's still produced
By the nuclear industry
That only just survives
Through Government subsidy
Nothing ever changes
It’s easy to see why
Profit before people
Is the moneymakers’ cry
Just look at the evidence
You’ll reach the same deduction
Capitalism means destruction!
We’ve only got one world
Don’t let it be destroyed
The earth is here for all of us
To use and to enjoy
They’re taking it away from us
With their greed and corruption
Capitalism means destruction!

Taste
02:17
|
|||
Throughout countless centuries
We’ve learnt to obey their rules
And accept a ruling class
Is necessary for us all
To survive inside a system
Based on inequality
Where the rulers pay lip service
To the myth of liberty
Which they need you to believe in
So you won’t try to attain
Any personal autonomy
They’ve no power to restrain
We have to break this cycle
If we’re going to survive
Think for ourselves
Take responsibility and control of our lives
If history teaches any lesson
It’s that passive acceptance fuels oppression
The answer’s in communication
Smash the state, unite the nation
Every few years
The politicians are in voice
Re-enacting the democratic sham
Pretending you’ve a voice
That you can make a difference
To your being with a vote
While they ensure
Policy making becomes ever more remote
Every time they tell you
They can solve all your hardships
So you’ll delegate your life to them
Through a voting slip
Then sit down for the next five years
Doing nothing but complain
Until election time comes round
And you do it all again
If history teaches any lesson
It’s that passive acceptance fuels oppression
The answer’s in communication
Smash the state, unite the nation

Slave Trade
02:04
|
|||
Untold rules and regulations
All of some sadist’s creation
Work your way around their rota
Become a statistic in their quota
Listen to their eulogising
Self-satisfied and patronising
They pleasure in turning the knife
Relish the control of your life
It takes a social inadequate
To do a job like theirs
Someone who likes to dominate
Someone who doesn't care
They can tell you how to look and dress
Can penalise you if they think you’re a mess
Well practised in applying duress
Slave traders of the DSS
If you get an offer but don’t say yes
They will take financial redress
Don’t care what you need, they’ll make you take less
Slave traders of the DSS
Inspectors always on the prowl
Trying to catch you falling foul
Of some obscure law or statute
If so they’ll be in hot pursuit
The 0800’s advertised
Recruit the public as their spies
Thought police behind every door
In their frontal assault against the poor
It takes a social inadequate
To do a job like theirs
Someone who likes to dominate
Someone who doesn't care
They can tell you how to look and dress
Can penalise you if they think you’re a mess
Well practised in applying duress
Slave traders of the DSS
If you get an offer but don’t say yes
They will take financial redress
Don’t care what you need, they’ll make you take less
Slave traders of the DSS

How many third world lives
Have died for you today?
How many kids went hungry
To subsidise your pay?
Look in your food cupboard
Add it all up
How much slavery it took
To fill your coffee cup
You can make a difference
If you only stop to think
You can make a difference
Caring about what you eat and drink
You can make a difference
With everything you do
You can make a difference
To the world around you
See the glossy adverts
On the television screen
Where everyone’s so happy
Everything’s so new and clean
If you buy their product
Then you’ll never be sad
If you believe a word of that
Then you’ve been had
You can make a difference
If you only stop to think
You can make a difference
Caring about what you eat and drink
You can make a difference
With everything you do
You can make a difference
To the world around you
Search out the alternatives
To corporation greed
Instead of feeding profits
Feed someone’s need
Their prices have been bought
By blood and by guns
Don’t support their exploitation
Don’t let them have won
You can make a difference
If you only stop to think
You can make a difference
Caring about what you eat and drink
You can make a difference
With everything you do
You can make a difference
To the world around you

I gave you no authority to dictate what I do
Still you felt the need to impose your values as I grew
From early days at school you tried to shape my every thought
The importance of obedience the recurring lesson taught
But your warped value system was ignored by me and others
We rejected the standards that you tried to force upon us
You're quick with “Do this, do that” but you’d never explain why
The fact is that you couldn’t because the concept’s based on lies
The ethics put together to serve only as a prop
For a hierarchical system that keeps the power on top
To restrain imagination, repress reasoned argument
Take away people’s belief in their own judgement
Now the tide is turning, less and less accept your rules
We're no longer passive wage slaves being ordered around like mules
New laws and regulations to keep people in check
Will soon prove to elicit just the opposite effect
Ignore their selfish maxims live by your own moral code
Allow others the respect and freedom you’d like to be showed
Communicate, co-operate, support each other’s stands
Petty competition plays into the system’s hands
Help build a counter culture where we’re all on the same side
Where with every success we can all feel a sense of pride
If our quality of life is ever going to be enhanced
We'll have to stick together, just to get the chance

Paying farmers to keep empty fields
They get more money if they limit yields
Mechanisation needs forced reduction
To meet their targets for production
People starving around the world
And their only concern
Is to keep the market prices up
And maximise what’s earned
It never occurs to them to grow
Food instead of weeds
The rules have been decreed
By a bureaucratic deed
That ignores people in need
With surpluses another chance to earn
By accepting cheques for making their crops burn
The fire’s light glows a bright vermillion
The colour of blood of starving millions
People starving around the world
And their only concern
Is to keep the market prices up
And maximise what’s earned
It never occurs to them to grow
Food instead of weeds
The rules have been decreed
By a bureaucratic deed
That ignores people in need
Marks, Francs, ECUs, pounds or krone
Language loved by rich landowners
Money for the rich no thoughts of mercy
The effect of the Common Agricultural Policy
People starving around the world
And their only concern
Is to keep the market prices up
And maximise what’s earned
It never occurs to them to grow
Food instead of weeds
The rules have been decreed
By a bureaucratic deed
That ignores people in need

Nearly twenty years of shouting the odds
But nothing’s changed, if anything it’s got worse
And people think the real power’s been diffused
Are we the only ones to see
That we are anything but free?
The rulers still have their ivory towers
And we’re all still abused
I don’t claim all the answers
I don’t claim second sight
But if you don’t listen, think and question
You’ll never get it right
I hear my voice but is it falling
Falling on deaf ears again?
However loud I shout are my words falling
Falling on deaf ears again?
Do you think a new government’s what you need
To change a system built on hate and greed?
If so you’ll be disappointed
When that false dawn comes about
Their only function’s to keep hold
To reinforce the status quo
Make sure there’s enough to fill the trough
Where they all put their snouts
But still you keep believing
Still you go out and vote
If you don’t listen, think and question
Then you haven’t any hope
I hear my voice but is it falling
Falling on deaf ears again?
However loud I shout are my words falling
Falling on deaf ears again?

So this is free society where we all start the same
We all have opportunity if we just play the game
There’s no discrimination we can succeed if we try
Tell me, in your reality, what colour’s the sky?
A look at the mortality rates
Will prove you’re telling lies
The rich live to a ripe old age
While the poor just drop like flies
We have a 'free' health service, which you claim is the best
I hope I never need to put your theory to the test
One thing rather worries me, answer if you dare
If the free one’s so good, why do the rich pay for healthcare?
A look at the mortality rates
Will prove you’re telling lies
The rich live to a ripe old age
While the poor just drop like flies
The gap keeps getting wider, there is no way across
From effects of malnutrition or the dust from asbestos
Or cancer from the cheap food chain or sharp rise in TB
Though I doubt you’d know anyone who’ll die from that disease
A look at the mortality rates
Will prove you’re telling lies
The rich live to a ripe old age
While the poor just drop like flies

We Only Want a Future
01:10
|
|||
Don’t need Big Brother Government
Checking our every move
With the police force and the military
On hand when they disapprove
We only want what’s rightfully ours
Control of our own lives
We’re sick of being downtrodden
Sick of being deprived
We only want a future where we have an equal say
We only want a future where we’re pleased to see each day
We only want a future where we combine work and play
We only want a future
Stand on your own feet
Came Thatcher’s clarion call
Get on your bike and look for work
Was Tebbit’s arrogant drawl
Now Bambi and grey Major
Pretend they understand
How can they comprehend hunger
Earning over forty grand?
We only want a future where we have an equal say
We only want a future where we’re pleased to see each day
We only want a future where we combine work and play
We only want a future
Don’t want to be dependent
But we’re left with little choice
They say they’ll listen to us
But then just ignore our voice
We’ll have to help ourselves
To overcome the superpowers
If we all stand together
The future can be ours
We only want a future where we have an equal say
We only want a future where we’re pleased to see each day
We only want a future where we combine work and play
We only want a future

Tomorrow
01:12
|
|||
How did we ever get ourselves in the position
Where the old are left to die of hypothermia and malnutrition
The young have nowhere else to go so live out on the streets
While the money’s in the hands of the social elite
Never in the field of human conflict it is true
Have so many been owed so much for so long by so few
The end is fast approaching for the inflictors of these crimes
They’ll all wake up one morning, find it’s payback time
It could be tomorrow
We must work for tomorrow
Must believe in tomorrow
The system dies tomorrow
It could be tomorrow
We must work for tomorrow
Must believe in tomorrow
The system dies tomorrow
As more and more get sucked into the poverty trap
The more obvious it becomes that democracy will snap
So the laws get tougher and they lock more behind bars
But that just leaves them less in taxes for their luxury cars
Breaking point gets closer, the more they lie and cheat
Let’s get the anarchist message to more people on the street
No laws, no gods, no masters, prepare the battlements
We can run our lives without the State and Government
It could be tomorrow
We must work for tomorrow
Must believe in tomorrow
The system dies tomorrow
It could be tomorrow
We must work for tomorrow
Must believe in tomorrow
The system dies

Anarchy
01:59
|
|||
And will our feet at any time
Walk upon England’s mountains free
And will the oppressive hand of God
Be cast forever into the sea?
When will the people join as one?
Stand tall upon these grassed hills
And when will anarchy be established here
With no more dark satanic mills
Bring me my baseball bat of old
Bring me the bricks that I desire
And petrol bombs let it be told
Of parliament consumed by fire
I shall not keep from mental fight
Nor shall my stick be far from hand
’til we have anarchy established here
And England is a pleasant land
